  • Welcome to "The Teaching Farm." It is so called because we are continually astounded at the lessons learned and the growth experienced here. We are honored to be the stewards of this 13 acres of land and we are delighted that you will join us in sharing the wisdom offered by this bit of Earth.

Watch for wildlife! It is possible that you will see deer, quail, gopher tortoises, wild turkeys, snakes (both friendly and not so friendly), butterflies and other assorted creatures. It is also possible you will see scorpions (mostly under dead wood), vicious red ants and many types of birds. Respect their space and they will usually respect yours.

    Purpose

Humankind is now faced with decisions which may determine the perpetuation of many species on the planet, including our own. World governments continue to escalate the arms race rather than pursue peaceable conflict resolution. Environmental devastation knows no borders and is contributing to a planetary crisis for all species.

We see no alternative but to display a leadership role in ushering in a new manner of thinking for the good of future generations.

Therefore, our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing location for inter-generational activities which provide peaceful and sustainable solutions through recreation and honest education.

    Land Use Policy

It is our intent that all activities conducted on the land will be conducive to the principles of ecological balance and peaceful coexistence with all of Earth's creation. It should be a place where people of all ages, races and creeds can commune with others seeking Earth's wisdom, a means to the virtue of self empowerment through service, and an understanding of how our individual lifestyles affect the health and well being of all.

    Potential activities include:

        Peace Camps for youth
        School tours
Community outreach classes for adults and young people
        Group retreats/meetings/campouts
